Every Rockland town has some free bulk pickup: Clarkstown's monthly carter pickup, Orangetown's four items a month, Monday pickups in Haverstraw and West Haverstraw, appointments in Stony Point. All of them want the item at the curb, in limited numbers, and none take refrigerators, electronics, tires or renovation debris. Junk removal is what you call for everything else: the sofa on the third floor, the basement that has not been touched since 1995, the whole house that has to be empty before the realtor's photographer arrives Friday. Two or three people and a truck, a firm price before they load, and it is gone the same visit.
The companies we match you with are independent Rockland haulers who carry insurance, quote in person or from your photos, and can tell you where the load goes: donation, scrap, e-waste recycling or the transfer station. We are a free referral service; you pay only the hauler, only if you hire them.

Ranges are published 2026 national figures (Angi's 2026 junk removal cost article, national average $241; Thumbtack's $138 – $308 average range; Extra Space Storage and DropCurb 2026 per-item guides; Angi's estate cleanout cost page; MyQuoteIQ's 2026 hot tub removal figure), not quotes from this site. Rockland disposal fees are higher than the national average, so local quotes often sit toward the top of each range. Details: Rockland junk removal price guide.

Busy seasons
Spring cleaning and the pre-Pesach weeks in Monsey and Spring Valley, the summer moving season, and the days after any big storm are the crunch times; book a few days ahead then. Single-item pickups are often same- or next-day the rest of the year. Estate cleanouts should be booked about a week before you need the house empty.
How it works
- Tell us about the job. What has to go, where it sits (curb, garage, basement, upstairs), and a photo if you have one.
- We match you with a local pro. One independent, insured junk removal company that serves your town. We do not blast your request to five companies.
- Get a free quote. They confirm a firm price, usually from your photos or a quick visit, and schedule the pickup. You decide; no fee and no obligation.
Junk removal questions from Rockland homeowners
How much does junk removal cost in Rockland County?
Angi's 2026 national average is $241 per job; single items run $75 to $200, a half truck $300 to $500, a full truck $500 to $800, and whole-house cleanouts average about $1,250. Rockland's higher disposal fees put most local quotes in the upper half of those ranges.
Is this a junk removal company?
No. We are a free referral service for Rockland County residents and property owners. You tell us what needs to go; we pass it to an independent, insured local hauler who serves your town, and they quote you directly. We never charge you anything.
What can't junk removal take?
Hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, propane, car batteries, fluorescent tubes) and asbestos-suspect materials. Rockland residents can bring household hazardous waste and electronics to the county facility in Pomona free on scheduled days.
Do they take it from inside the house?
Yes. That is the main difference from bulk pickup: crews carry from the basement, attic, garage or backyard and load directly into the truck.
How is the price set?
By the volume your items take in the truck, quoted firm on site or from photos before anything is loaded, plus named surcharges for refrigerant appliances, tires, e-waste and very heavy items.
Is electronics disposal really illegal in the trash?
Yes. New York's Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act has banned TVs, computers, monitors and similar devices from household trash since January 2015. Haulers recycle them; the county's Pomona facility takes them free.
